Urdu poetry, particularly ghazals, can offer valuable lessons in character development for those who have a natural inclination for the art form. Through its verses, one can cultivate humility, grace, patience, and perhaps most importantly, the ability to love without the expectation of possession.
In recent years, there has been a resurgence of interest in Urdu poetry among people in the Indian subcontinent. Despite the emergence of talented ghazal poets from India and Pakistan, there are still many individuals who lack an understanding and structured education of this beautiful form of expression.
Drawing inspiration from the rich history of the "ustaad-shaagird" tradition in the plains of Delhi, the "Meer School of Urdu Poetry" has been established with the goal of reviving this legacy.
